Hayabusa Jack Eye Kick Tail 30g (just over 1 oz.) vertical jig is irresistible, as we hooked up on five different species within a few hours just offshore over Connecticut saltwater rock pile structure.  The intentionally imbalanced weight distribution of the lure, on top of the attractive presentation made this lure in pink mackerel a sure thing.  And the blue pink squid extension only helped. I know this because I felt many nibbles on the skirt before confirming fish on with each committed bite.  Black Sea Bass, Sea Robin, Fluke, Scup and a nice size Striped Bass proved my point.  There was also almost a Bluefish, who ambushed my last Scup on the retrieval, leaving the poor guy with only half a body.  Every catch was released, leaving the half-a-Scup to a seagull.  

In addition to hits on the drop, and in consideration of the current, I glided the bait just over the bottom until a strike.  I didn't have to wait long.  I even distance casted a little, especially by the ranch buoy after spotting surface action.
